Civil rights laws, wage laws, minimum leave laws, and other workplace laws impose various requirements on employers to act ethically and responsibly in their workplace actions. As just a few examples, employers cannot discriminate or harass employees based upon race, color, religion, sex, military status, national origin, disability, age, ancestry, pregnancy, and (in some states) sexual orientation. Employers cannot discriminate, harass, or otherwise retaliate, against their employees for engaging in protected whistleblower activity or for asserting their rights under the law. Employers must follow strict rules in the provision of overtime, minimum wage, and timely payment of an employee's paychecks.
If you are an employee or former employee, our job at CB Law is to ensure that employers uphold their responsibilities to you as an employee and, where employers do not, we stand ready and willing to enforce your rights as your attorneys.
